How we collect, use and protect your data.

Last updated: 7 July 2026

Who we are

Freelance Budget (the "Service", "we", "us") is a budgeting and treasury tool for freelancers, published by I Make IT, a company registered in France. This policy explains what personal data we process, why, and the rights you have. It applies to the website freelancebudget.com and the Freelance Budget application.

Data we collect

Account data: your name, email address and authentication details.

Data you enter: the business, financial and accounting information you record in the app — entities, clients, missions, invoices, expenses, salaries, taxes and revenue.

Data from services you connect: when you link a third-party account (Google AdSense, Google AdMob, YouTube, Stripe, Apple App Store, Google Play, or your bank through open banking), we retrieve — with your explicit authorization and in read-only mode — the revenue and transaction figures needed to populate your dashboard.

Technical data: logs, IP address and device information collected to operate and secure the Service.

How we use your data

We process your data solely to provide the Service: display your revenue and expenses, compute treasury projections and statistics, generate invoices, and keep your account secure.

We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.

Data from Google services (Limited Use)

When you connect a Google account (AdSense, AdMob or YouTube), Freelance Budget accesses, in read-only mode and only with your explicit consent, your revenue reports through the AdSense Management API, AdMob API, YouTube Data API and YouTube Analytics API.

Freelance Budget's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Concretely, this Google data is used only to display and project your revenue inside your own dashboard. It is never sold, never used for advertising, and never transferred to third parties except as necessary to provide this feature, to comply with the law, or with your consent. No human reads this data except where necessary for security or support and with your authorization.

You can revoke Freelance Budget's access at any time from within the app or from your Google Account permissions (myaccount.google.com/permissions).

Legal basis

Under the GDPR we rely on: the performance of our contract with you (to provide the Service), your consent (for the optional integrations you choose to connect), and our legal obligations (notably accounting and invoice retention).

Storage and security

Your data is hosted in the European Union. Credentials for the services you connect are encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM).

We apply access controls, encryption in transit and least-privilege principles. Only read-only scopes are requested from third-party providers.

Sharing and sub-processors

We share data only with the providers strictly necessary to run the Service, acting on our instructions: hosting, transactional email, payment processing (Stripe) and bank aggregation (Powens). They act as processors under contract.

The third-party sources you connect (Google, Apple, Stripe, your bank) are data sources you authorize: we read from them, we do not push your personal data to them for their own purposes.

Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. Invoices and accounting records are retained for the legal period required in France (10 years).

You can request deletion at any time; we will erase the data we are not legally required to keep.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and port your data, and to object to certain processing. You can exercise these rights, or withdraw a connected-service authorization, at any time.

To exercise your rights, contact damien@i-make-it.net. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the French data-protection authority (CNIL).

International transfers

Your data is primarily processed in the EU. Some connected providers (e.g. Google, Stripe, Apple) may process data outside the EU under appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

Children

The Service is intended for professional use by adults and is not directed to children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in the Service or the law. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email. The date above indicates the latest revision.
