Frequently asked questions

Does Freelance Budget handle German Umsatzsteuer (VAT)?

Yes. Monthly and quarterly regimes are pre-configured with the 10th of M+1 as the filing deadline (shifting to the next business day if needed), on an accrual basis.

Freiberufler or GmbH?

Both are supported. Freiberufler (self-employed professional) is the default for most independent freelancers — lower charges, simpler tax. GmbH (limited company) has higher social charges and corporate tax, but limited liability.

Are German public holidays handled?

Yes. All 9 federal holidays are pre-configured so the working-days calculation for missions and treasury projections is accurate.
